Social mail mobilizer
The most backbone cadre in the Department of Welfare and Population is the social mail mobilizer. The purpose of the mail mobilizer is to go door to door to register married couples and then provide contraceptives and contraceptives to the registered couples. The backbone is said to motivate men and refer injection and copper T patients to welfare centers and refer sterilization patients to family health clinics in rural areas.
I conduct camps through mobile service units, in this camp announcements are made in the mosque and patients are referred and then dengue meetings are held as per the tour program.
Pregnancy break meeting is done through healthy time and group meeting is also done. All of them are required to submit report every month. If basic facilities are provided to this cadre, there is no doubt that they can play an important role in family planning in the population of Pakistan.
As a social male Mobilizer in family planning, your role would be to engage men and raise awareness about the importance of family planning and its benefits. Here are a few ideas to be creative and effective in your role:
1. Organize community workshops: Hold interactive sessions where men can openly discuss family planning and dispel any misconceptions or myths. Involve local healthcare professionals to provide factual information and address concerns.
2. Conduct street campaigns: Set up booths in public places where you can distribute informational materials, answer questions, and engage in conversations with men about family planning. This approach allows you to reach a wider audience and educate people who may not seek information on their own.
3. Collaborate with influential figures: Partner with local leaders, religious figures, or respected community members who can help advocate for family planning. Their support can help to shift cultural norms and encourage more men to embrace the idea.
4. Engage men's groups: Tap into existing men's groups or create new ones centered around discussing family planning. Encourage open dialogue, share success stories, and create a supportive environment where men can learn from each other.
5. Develop multimedia campaigns: Utilize social media platforms, radio shows, or podcasts to create engaging content about family planning targeted towards men. Use storytelling, testimonials, and relatable messaging to grab their attention and encourage them to consider their role in family planning.
Remember, the key is to be approachable, understanding, and sensitive to the cultural contexts in which you are working. Building trust and genuine connections will help you in your role as a social male Mobilizer in family planning.
